Weather – crystal clear sunshine (a little smoke ash from fire 9 mi south, that was gone by mile 20). Temps started on n high 40’s and got to 80, then dropped like a rock when sun was behind the hills.

Today was constant climbing along the Clearwater River. Super pretty, magnificent!!! The road was nice and just kept going up about 1 to 3%.

Technically 3 climbs today but the noteworthy one was at about mile 100. So ya we did a century and the did about 2800 foot climb in the heat. It was beyond tough and there cannot be enough words for fatigue. I think I average about 6 mph, which flirtations of less than 5.0 mph. I felt like I was going to fall over. There were no, none, nada flat spots to recover. I wanted to be shot and have my carcass thrown off!!!

I’m better now after a 7 mile decent that required no pedaling. The hotel then had a spread of prime rib, baked spuds, salad and desert. Super nice people – all grew up here!!! They also gave us bling bags – very nice!!!

Oh ya, butt is still on fire (come to find out everyone’s is). Next up Missoula…only 37 miles. Man I need a break🤪
