Day 14 Recovery Riding Three Rivers to Bozeman

Sacagawea Park at dawn in Three Rivers – amazing story with Lewis and Clark
  • Miles today 43.9
  • Miles total 958.8
  • Elevation today 1339
  • Elevation total 50708
  • Weather – woke up to fog and 49 degrees!!!! Burned off as soon as sun came up for a glorious day!!! No wind and mid 60’s climbing to low 70’s by noon
Plan – we had down power line and need to re-route some. Stuff happens!

Today was an easy ride with very little elevation. Ride was thru farmland. Roads sort of followed property lines.

Interesting items on the ride, other than a power line mess was a crop duster going back and forth about 5 times – very low, feeling like he could have taken us out. Then letting the spray out at the precise moment. His maneuvers were crazy with stalls and screaming down – felt like I was in the movie Tora, Tora,Tora.

So with the low miles and low elevation was like an early rest as we in Bozeman by 12:00 (with a 9:00 start). Bozeman is very nice downtown with lots of good food spots. Had a gigantic raspberry milkshake with lunch (I’m sure it was a quart of ice cream and quart of milk). Had to walk that off by going to MT State campus. Weird observation-afternoon temps in mid 80’s, most of kids in sweat pants or sweatshirts, I’m a sweat ball…what is going on?

Finished the day off with MT steak dinner and a cup of huckleberry ice cream – I have just become a true MT boy…need to buy a white pick up and get me some custom cowboy boots to not be a poser. Next time thru!

Tomorrow starts a stretch high miles and higher elevation. Couple more days in MT then a big boy ride WY. Ride ‘em cowboy!!!
