Plan for the day – by Lake Erie, who knew!

Today was a day for riding in trails – every surface type possible. Totals miles on trails about 40. The surfaces were cinder track, dirt/fine gravel/sand, pressed rock concrete, blacktop, concrete, and chip seal. We were lucky it was dry, otherwise we would be picking the grit out of our teeth for weeks!

With all the surface types and trails – two things, there is a whole lot of shakin’ going on thru the bars (and the saddle, ugh!) and second, the effort to move the bike is different – sometimes harder and sometimes easier. Ya, it’s a thing that rolling resistance!

Nothing really memorable today, it’s Ohio, whose motto is “It’s really not that bad”. But we ended the day with a great meal by the Hotel Oberlin – real adult food-broccoli, gnocchi, fennel sausage pasta, chicken Marsala and butterscotch pudding. The hotel is associated with the liberal arts school of Oberlin College. So I put a bow on it with two helpings – still calorie deficit🤪

Tomorrow is a circumnavigation of Cleveland and end up in Newbury, OH back with the climbs!

Gravel ride – 9 miles on sand , dirt and rock
