• Weather – Kinda brisk, low 60’s with a headwind of 10 to 15 mph – oh ya it was tough and it was all day!

Today was supposed to have 5 climbs, it ended up having 7. They were all short and steep and almost 600 more feet than planned. That plus an unrelenting headwind made for a day of grind. Speaking of grind, that’s what my chain and pedal sounded like with every stroke. Makes you feel like you are working twice as hard.

It was a day of survival. A lot of folks are feeling the effect of 40 days of riding (which is twice as long as the Tour de France). Injuries, gastro issues and general fatigue are becoming more frequent! We had a guy who lives close head home for Dr visit – with glazed eyes and downward look on the ride; looked like he was counting the rocks in the gravel. So 6 days of riding and ridiculous amount of climbing to go (27000 ft). This will be just about getting to the barn each day!!!
